It is all about corrupt governments, NGO’s and multi-national companies extracting payment from the unsuspecting or complicit masses. This is a classic definition of rent-seeking. Carbon taxes, green development and transfer payments create no value, they simply take from one to give to another. The potential consequences for the global economy led by capitalism, which has done more to lift more people out of poverty and improve human life than any system in history, are devastating.
