SI gave the nod to the odious Ms. Rapinoe, who was not deserving of it for either her on or off-field exploits. She got it because she hates Trump and is vocal about it. Ms. Rapinoe then proceeded to excoriate SI for their history of racism and sexism. Oh the irony.

SI was once a great publication, but those days are over. It was once staffed by giants of sports journalism, but those men are mostly dead or retired. About ten years ago SI slowly began creeping left and has now fully embraced leftist “woke” journalism. The quality of the product has plummeted and the publication is likely dying as a result. People who buy a sports magazine want to read about sports, not LGBT, socialism, fake racism or the SJW crowd. I wonder what M. Rapinoe feels about the obviously sexist Swimsuit Edition?
