Make no mistake, though this is an opinion piece, it would not appear in the NYT without the editorial staff’s full approval. A dopey fellow at Arizona State is so convinced that the planet is facing imminent demise from capitalism that the only thing able to save it is “environmental socialism”. What he really means is a “green dictatorship”. Somehow this a-hole missed the part about communist and socialist nations being among the biggest historical polluters. Or perhaps he missed the gulags, starvation and mass-murder, but that is really what leftists want. Fewer people, themselves in charge, and the power over who lives and who dies.
