By stating and acting on his intention to nominate a new supreme court justice based only on the following two qualifications: black and female, Biden has put a stake into the heart of real equality. Like many on the left, the president….I throw up in my mouth when I write that…has decided that race and sex are all that matters. Well, the implied third qualifier is hard-core leftist, which the nominee is. This is unfair to her as it will be correctly assumed she is not the most qualified (she isn’t) as well as all those minorities who have worked hard to achieve and get to the top. She will always be seen as a token with hard-core leftist ideologies, and not incorrectly so. Compare this to the way most Republican presidents nominate justices: adherence to the Constitution, past achievement, conservative principles and temperament. Say what you will, but Republicans try to nominate the best candidate based on those factors…race and sex are rarely a consideration. We have been here before with the “wide Latina” Ms. Sotomayor, who during the recent Covid mandate debates showed what she truly is: an imbecile.
