Leftist Big Business Is Threatening America’s Democracy

The stereotype used to be that big business was a conservative, Republican leaning enterprise. Though never really the case, it is true that 30-40 years ago it was probably rare to find a radical leftist running a large corporation. How times have changed. Several large banks including Citicorp have stopped doing business with the gun industry, though usually under pressure from leftist Democrat politicians. Facebook and Google openly suppress conservative speech and ideas, and runoff employees who do not hold far-left ideologies.

Now, the dishonest and intellectually challenged left will tell you that this is no different than Chick-fil-A’s owners privately supporting traditional marriage or Hobby Lobby refusing to provide contraception in its healthcare benefits. They could not be more wrong. It is in fact the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. Companies run by vile leftists such as Disney and Netflix are hoping to penalize a state over a law passed by the democratic process and approved by a majority of its residents. Hobby Lobby and Chick-fil-A have been attacked BY government bodies from the local up to federal for views deemed unpopular by them. Notice that these companies have not threatened to pull their business out of NY, Illinois or any other place run by leftists. Conservatives generally “live and let live”, leftists want to tell everyone HOW to live and penalize them if they don’t.

Now, Disney and Netflix have the right to do business wherever they want, but I doubt the legality of Facebook’s or Google’s actions, among others. What is interesting about the entertainment industry is that Disney has no problem doing business in an oppressive country like China (though they probably like the forced abortion) and Netflix recently filmed in Malaysia, where being gay is illegal! But that’s OK. At the same time, we as traditional and conservative American’s have every right NOT to do business with these companies. No more Facebook. No more trips to Disneyworld. Netflix sub cancelled. I suggest we start exercising those rights.

I wanted to bring attention to this because this is how the typical leftist rolls: pejoratives and insults. They didn’t like my post, apparently. I approved the comments but know many people do not bother to read them.

Now, my reply to the person:
That is an excellent reply, Bill! (Sarcasm) You are going to have to bring stronger stuff than that to this site. As with most leftists your entire argument is a logical fallacy, in this case being insults. Not that you know what a logical fallacy is. Here are some facts, not emotion-filled insults. Science is rarely “settled”, nor is “consensus” science, not that there is any in this case. The “consensus” is a figure made up by left-wing media. Science is observation and analysis. For every study you can cite showing all-time record temperatures (since 1900, hardly all of recorded history), I can cite one showing no warming since 1998. Data can be and is manipulated easily. Or are we on to global cooling so you call it “climate change” now? There is no observable trend in more violent storm activity. The Earth is a highly complex open system whose climate is impacted by a myriad of factors, CO2 POSSIBLY being only one of dozens. Do you realize that sun spot activity causes significant fluctuations in solar energy reaching the Earth? Have you ever heard of ionizing radiation and the impact of it on cloud cover? I doubt it. Do you know that ocean currents shift drastically over time and may be a cause of, and are not caused by, shifts in climate? Do you realize that of all the CO2 pumped into the atmosphere human activity is only responsible for 3-5% of it. I could go on and on. I would be willing to consider human activity and CO2 emissions as a POSSIBLE cause of some climate change if it were not for the fact that the professional left (politicians, media, NGO’s, the UN) are SO convinced it is “settled science” and are so worked up about it, telling me that most of them know it is a con-game to transfer wealth and line their own pockets. Heck, I will admit that human activity is causing “climate change” in one way: land development and use. Just walk from the country into any big city. In fact, I theorize that it is a much bigger driver than CO2 and should be studied. You do not win arguments by screaming at people and insulting them. I suggest you educate yourself and not get your talking points from CNN, Al Gore, Stephen Colbert or Bill Nye before you come here. Put on your big-boy debating pants next time.

Higher Education Is Failing

This is not news with the left-wing indoctrination, the soaring costs, the pay-to-play scams. I have written about it many times before. College is too expensive, often does not educate, and does a poor job matching students with what employers need. It is propped up by a corrupt government-run loan system which only achieves in inflating costs. College in general is a shadow of what it was 20-30 years ago.

The only hard thing about so-called “elite” universities is getting in. Once there many students are coddled, not worked and given inflated grades. After all, who wants to flunk out paying customers? “Social justice warriors run-amok on many campuses.

Harvard Bows To SJW’s and Embarrasses Itself

A few pants-wetting social justice warriors in a dorm at Harvard got the Dean of the dorm (a very distinguished law professor) and his wife removed because, wait for it, he is DARING to defend Harvey Weinstein! That makes them feel “unsafe”. Now, the position is largely ceremonial and advisory; he still keeps his position in the law school. But the emboldened thumb-sucking SJW’s will no doubt try to oust him entirely at some point. Noted honest liberal legal expert Alan Dershowitz and many others are excoriating Harvard for this decision, justifiably so.

Climate Change Disrupted South American Peoples….8000 Years Ago!

About 8000 before the combustion engine and wide-spread population growth, thus proving that the climate will always change and there is nothing we can do about it.

There is simply no evidence that mankind is changing the long-term climate of the Earth. At the same time left-wing screechers in the media have been out in force over some bogus UN report.
